Lisa A Keister

Lisa A. Keister is Gilhuly Family Professor of Sociology at Duke University. She conducts research on wealth ownership in the United States, the 1 percent, the role of religion in economic decision making, immigration and its economic consequences, interfirm networks, and organizational startup and performance during China’s transition. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Russell Sage Foundation, and other organizations. Her work has appeared in various top journals, and she is author of numerous books including Wealth in America, Getting Rich, and Faith and Money: How Religious Belief Contributes to Wealth and Poverty. She is currently completing a book on America’s wealthiest families, the 1 percent.
