Rishad Choudhury

Rishad Choudhury is a PhD candidate in history at Cornell University. As a 2012 SSRC International Dissertation Research fellow, he conducted multisited archival work in London, Istanbul, and Delhi. His dissertation, “States of Pilgrimage: The Hajj from India in an Age of Imperial Transitions, 1707–1820,” is a study of the changing circumstances of South Asian devotional circulations in the Near East and the Indian Ocean world over the long eighteenth century.
